The King and Queen of American pop music are reportedly planning a co-headlining tour of the U.S. this summer. This would be the first time Jay Z and Beyonce have officially toured together. The couple has made surprise appearances at each other’s shows in the past, but the Carter-Knowles family has deliberately tried to separate their careers… until now.
Jay Z and Beyonce Plan Co-Headlining Tour
New York Post’s Page Six reports that the co-headlining tour would hit 20 cities this summer, starting in late June. Though nothing has been confirmed at this point, Page Six is the same source that broke news of Jay Z’s tour with Justin Timberlake last summer.
Jay Z seems to have found a certain affinity for co-headlining mega tours. In 2012, he hit the road with Kanye West to promote the duo’s Watch the Throne album, and last year he co-headlined a stadium tour with Timberlake.
If the couple’s Grammy performance is any indication, this show could get quite steamy. Watch Beyonce and Jay Z open the 2014 Grammy Awards with “Drunk In Love” below.
Made in America Goes West:
In addition to touring the country with his wife, Jay Z will officially announce a Los Angeles edition of his Made In America festival. MTV is reporting that Jay Z will make the announcement with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti today at 12:30 p.m. ET. The festival started in Philadelphia two years ago, and has featured star-studded lineups since its inception. Stay tuned for more information on the festival’s west-coast expansion.
