Julian Casablancas Teases a New Album with 90s Style Trailer

Julian Casablancas teases new album with possible new band

It’s been four years since we heard Julian Casablancas‘ Phrazes For The Young – four long years, filled with anticipation for something fresh. Fret not though, because as 2014 rolls along, The Strokes frontman is set to make several appearances at festivals across the world – and it seems that there will be a new album accompanying him on his musical journeys.

Julian Casablancas’ New Album Trailer

The drunked-up, punked-up, bass heavy baritone just released a teaser trailer for what seems to be a new album, with a title screen that just says Julian Casablancas + The Voidz. Perhaps it’s a new backing band, or maybe it’s just an attempt at a fresh new name, but regardless, it’s something we can’t wait to hear. Leaving some of the classic Casablancas electro-pop behind (but not entirely), the new album looks like it’s leaning back to 90s punk rock roots, with heavy distorted guitars and hard hitting snares.

Watch the 90s injected, videogame-esque teaser trailer below and be sure to catch Julian Casablancas when he hits a town near you. See tour dates after the video.
