Kanye West Working on New Album for 2014
Release dates for rap albums are about as fickle as they get, so up until today, we were still a little skeptical (rightfully so). However, as Live Nation Australia reports, Kanye West postponed his May Yeezus tour dates in Australia due to “unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release.”
The album has naturally garnered tons of rumors, namely the involvement of the seemingly omnipresent James Blake. Time will tell whether Justin Vernon makes an appearance, or whether the new record will complement Yeezus as Springsteen’s Born To Run complemented Nebraska, as Ye promised.
Those of you that were hoping to see Kanye down under shouldn’t fret though – new dates have been added for September and May tickets will be honored. That means if you’re in the great outback (or Bonnaroo), you might just see some Yeezy-certified fresh material performed. Either way, get ready for what is sure to be the most anticipated album of 2014. (Live Nation Australia clarifies “this is definitely not an April Fools joke.”)
