August and September will be a lot of fun in Anaheim this season as the Los Angeles Angels are battling for a playoff spot. The American League West Division is well within reach as they begin August only 2.0 behind the Houston Astros for the lead. They begin the month with the top American League Wild Card spot with a 2.0 games over the second place Minnesota Twins. They are however only three games ahead of the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles as being the first team out of the playoffs. So there is not much room for a losing streak.
The Los Angeles Angels schedule in August has them beginning the month in town but at Dodger Stadium to face the cross town Los Angeles Dodgers July 31 through August 2. They return to Angel Stadium of Anaheim for a three game series with the Cleveland Indians who will be looking to play the spoiler role and what could be a huge series with the Baltimore Orioles from August 7-9.
The Angels then go back on the road to face two more teams looking to land in the playoffs with the red hot Chicago White Sox the first three games and the Kansas City Royals the last three of the six game trip from August 10-15. Then the Angels return home to Angel Stadium for a pair of big series, a four game series with the White Sox and a three game series against the Blue Jays from August 17th through the 23rd. They will then go back on the road to take on the Detroit Tigers for three games, the Indians for three games and the Oakland A’s for three games.
The Los Angeles Angels schedule in September begins with the A’s series and continues when they return to Angels Stadium for three games with the Texas Rangers September 4-6, the cross town Dodgers from September 7-0 and a huge series with the Astros from September 11-13. That series will be a huge one for both teams and could go a long way towards deciding the division title.

The Angles will go back on the road to play at the Seattle Mariners for three games and then will have two huge series, a four game series with the Minnesota Twins and a three game series with the Astros.
They will come back to Angel Stadium to face the Mariners September 25-27 and the A’s on September 28-30. They will end the regular season with a four game series at the Rangers from October 1-4. Hopefully for Angels fans that will not be the only October baseball this season.
The postseason will surely be a lot more exciting with Mike Trout involved. He may be the best player in the game today. He is hitting .317 with 32 home runs and 67 RBIs. He is also one of the best centerfielders in baseball. It would also be nice to watch Albert Pujols play in October again. He had some big postseason moments while playing for the St. Louis Cardinals for 11 seasons.
The Angels big question mark is whether they have enough pitching. Hector Santiago is putting up good number with a 2.70 ERA and 115 strikeouts. But if he is your scariest stating pitcher, the Angels have a big problem.
