Nas To Peform ‘Illmatic’ in Full on 20th Anniversary Tour

Illmatic 20th Anniversary World Tour

Nas set to release a 20th anniversary edition of Illmatic this year

2014 marks 20 years since one of the dopest hip-hop albums hit the streets – Nasty NasIllmatic. The Don’s debut dropped on April 19, 1994 and has been argued as one of the greatest hip-hop albums, as well as his magnum opus. And now, 20 years later, Nasir Jones is dishing out a special treat for fans across the globe.

Nas Celebrates Illmatic’s 20th Anniversary

On April 15, Illmatic XX will be available, a 2-disc special edition of the original album featuring remastered tracks, remixes, and previously unreleased demos and freestyles. And that’s not all – in further commemoration, Nastradamus will be trekking across the world to perform Illmatic in its entirety, so fans everywhere can experience what hip-hop was like back in the day.

So far we only have a few announced tour dates (see below) but stay tuned for further updates. Also, look out for an accompanying documentary, Time Is Illmatic, which is set for release later this year.
