The essential hip-hop duo was rumored to be reuniting at next year’s Coachella Music and Arts Festival, according to sources from Billboard, but now the news seems to have been confirmed by a frequent collaborator of the group, in addition to an official reunion tour.
Outkast Allegedly Playing Reunion Shows, Starting With Coachella
Outkast, made up of Big Boi and Andre 3000, have been all but dormant since their last album release in 2006. In the years since the last Outkast activity, Big Boi has enjoyed a successful solo career, releasing his second LP just last year, while Andre 3K has mostly focused on acting, with a few music guest appearances peppered here and there.
The official announcement of a reunion was made at Revolt, who confirmed that live shows were, in fact, happening. Not satisfied? Outkast collaborator Sleep Brown recently posted the following photo on his Instagram. Time will tell whether this exciting rumor holds water, but the mere thought of an Outkast reunion should be enough to sell Coachella tickets even more rapidly than usual. The two weekend festival is set to begin on April 11th. Stay tuned.
