Prince does as Prince pleases. In the last few months, we’ve seen The Purple One spontaneously premier new songs, perform shows, and make appearances – reminding us time and time again why we’ll never have enough of the Minneapolis royal funk.
Prince’s Performance on The Arsenio Hall Show
Whether it be melting minds at some London Club or premiering new tracks after the Super Bowl, on New Girl, the High Priest of Pop seems to have some method to what appears to be musical madness to us common folk. And last night, during his
appearance take over of The Arsenio Hall Show, Prince continued on his path of funked-up musical mania. Backed by the “astral travelling explosion of awesome” 3rdEyeGirl, Prince performed the live debut of “FUNKNROLL,” as well as a powerful live rendition of “She’s Always In My Hair.” And in a finale of all late night finales, 3rdEyeGirl and The New Power Generation combined to form an outrageous 30-piece band, aiding Prince on his groovy version of The Family’s “Mutiny”.
Watch the historic performances below and keep your ears and eyes peeled for that funky flash of purple that can strike at any moment, for any reason or no reason at all.
