In support of her recently released self-titled album, “art-rocker” St. Vincent–a.k.a. Annie Clark–paid a visit to the Colbert Report last night. Per usual, the interview with Colbert was full of quips and witty asides. St. Vincent Gets Digital On ‘Colbert Report’
After asking if he can call her Vinny, Colbert touches on Clark’s Smithsonian 2013 American Ingenuity Award for Performing Arts and her large Catholic family. Clark also explains the idea of “techno-shamanism” which is a central theme of her new album. Later in the show, Clark performed album tracks “Digital Witness” and “Birth In Reverse.”
