Opening night of the NBA season, the defending Eastern Conference champs, the Cleveland Cavaliers, travel to Chicago to take on the Bulls. This is is the first matchup since last year's playoffs where the Cavaliers beat the Bulls 4 games to 2 which knocked the Bulls out of the playoffs. These two teams for sure don't like each other and will provide for an intense and emotional game. The game went down to the wire as these two teams battled back and forth for the whole game. The ball was in the hands of LeBron James when the game was on the line with only seconds left in the game; but Pau Gasol came through big for the Bulls as he blocked the winning layup put up by James. The Bulls escape with a 2 point victory 97-95. Despite the loss, James had 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Cavaliers. Nikola Mirotic was the high point man for the Bulls with 19 points and also added 9 rebounds in the victory for Chicago.

The Bulls have their backs against the wall as the Cleveland Cavaliers are one game away from eliminating Chicago from the playoffs. Up 3-2 in the series, the Cavaliers only need one more win to advance further in the postseason. This series has been filled with intense and exciting basketball that has featured two buzzer beater wins for both the Bulls and Cavaliers. The Bulls couldn't seem to get in a groove offensively as they fell to the Cavaliers. In this matchup, the role players of the teams were the story of the game as many of the stars didn't shine as bright as usual. Matthew Dellavedova was the high point man for the Cavaliers with 19 points. Jimmy Butler scored a game high 20 points for the Bulls and also had 5 rebounds. Despite the loss, Butler had a great series as he guarded LeBron James throughout the series and made it difficult for the King to knock down shots.
