QB Alex Smith and the Chiefs offensive line struggled throughout as Smith threw 2 interceptions. Denver QB struggle some in the game but had some bright spots throwing for 3 touchdowns, 256 passing yards, and an interception against a strong Chiefs defense. The Denver team narrowly won in the closing minutes against a Kansas City team who had bright spots here and there. Opening up the half and leading into the third quarter, both teams traded field goals ending the quarter with the Broncos still in the lead 23-10. As the fourth quarter picks up, the Broncos increase their lead and put up a 33 yard field goal. The Chiefs strike back with a Smith touchdown pass to Jamaal Charles for 12 yards. But the Broncos don't quit and add another field goal from 37 yards as the game comes to an end with a Kansas City loss 29-16.

The struggling Chiefs travel Denver to take on Peyton Manning and the Broncos. The undefeated Broncos start off the game fast as Peyton Manning finds Julius Thomas for a four yard touchdown pass. The Chiefs strike again in the beginning of the second quarter as running back Knile Davis punches in a touchdown from two yards out. The Broncos offense continues to fire on all cylinders as Peyton Manning throws for two touchdown passes in the quarter and the Broncos go into the half leading 21-10. As play begins in the second half, the defenses stand firm for the third quarter as no points are scored. Thing pick up in the fourth quarter as Davis puts in another touchdown run for the Chiefs from four yards out cutting the Broncos lead down to 17-21.
