Every game matters in the NFL and that could not be more true in the final week of the 2014 regular season as the Chargers travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs. This game is a must win for the Chargers because if they win this game, they’re in the playoffs. But Kansas City had other ideas. Action picks up in the second quarter as Travis Kelce recovers a fumble in the endzone for a touchdown and more points on the board for the Chiefs. The Chargers fire back with a touchdown of their own as Brandon Oliver punches in a run from the one yard line. For the remainder of the half, Kansas City puts up two more field goals by Cairo Santos as the half ends with the Chiefs up 16-7. As the second half begins, the game is a heavily defensive battle as points are hard to come by. The Chiefs put up one more 27 yard field goal by Santos and goes up 19-7. Both defenses hold strong and no more points are scored by either team as the game ends. Defense was the key to the game as the Chiefs defense looked very impressive against the Charger offense. Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston sacked Philip Rivers four times in the game and with his last sack is now the Chiefs record holder of most sacks in a season. Houston also leads the NFL in sacks with 22.
