Drake Ticket Information

This Canadian-born heart throb has been on the music scene since his days at TV show Degrassi where he played adorable Jimmy Brooks. Since signing on with Lil Wayne's record label, Young Money, Drake has been notorious for selling out of tickets at the largest venues across America.

Although he came from a modest upbringing (Started At The Bottom, duh) Drake has managed to top charts time after time. His second album, Thank Me Later, hit platinum in 2010. From there Drake has become an unstoppable force, collaborating with artists like Rihanna, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, and Kendrick Lamar.

Along with writing his own music, Drake has written and produced songs for Alicia Keys, Rita Ora, Trey Songz, and Jamie Foxx. Drake's latest big-ticket album is Views From The 6, which features hit sing 0 to100. Make sure to pick up tickets for his 2015 tour before they're sold out!

Drake Bio

Aubrey "Drake" Graham began rapping in his teenage years. During much of his early musical career he was better known as Jimmy, and eventually “Wheellchair Jimmy” from the popular teen television show “Degrassi The Next Generation.” He began to gain some attention in the Toronto area where he lived after the release of his first mixtape Room For Improvement. Over the years Drake has been very vocal that some of his main influences are artists like Kanye West, Pharell, Jay Z, Pusha-T as well as lesser known more "underground" rappers like Phonte of Little Brother. Even in his early recordings these influences could be heard. From the onset Drake was a different artist than the mainstream rap world was used to, one who was willing to vocalize his emotions and inner thoughts, no matter how "uncool" they may have seemed.

An important element of Drake's early success was how he was able to parlay and leverage his success and notoriety as a tv actor and local club promoter to help his ambitions as a musician. His follow up release, the mixtape Comeback Season highlighted that concept well with it’s multiple collaborations with Trey Songz. Trey was an artist who not only complimented Drake's style of R&B inspired Hip Hop, but more importantly one who had billboard charting songs, national attention in the united states and overall huge notoriety. Their song "Replacement Girl" made some waves, becoming the first music video played on BET by an unsigned artist hailing from Canada.

It was this early work and relationship building that would eventually land Drake with the man who would provide the platform to catapult him into the mainstream. James Prince, the son of J Prince, famed Houston Rap Impresario and founder of Rap-Alot Records, had become a friend of Drake’s and is the person who in 2008 got Drake's music in the hands of Lil Wayne. A relationship between the two began to form, the product of which became available to the public in the form of songs like "Ransom.” It was also during this time that Drake and another new protege of Lil Wayne, one Onika Miraj aka Nicki Minaj, began to build a relationship.

In 2009 the real turning point of Drake's career came in the form of his mixtape So Far Gone. The tape featured tracks that would eventually have huge commercial success like "Best I Ever Had" & "Successful;" but what really made it stand out was that it was the first time that Drake had truly refined his sound on a high level. As a result of the project Drake's rise to prominence was absolutely unprecedented. Even before the song and eventual video (directed by Kanye West) for “Best I Ever Had” really took off, the word of mouth praise and endorsement was like none EVER seen before. Drake went from a pretty much unknown to one of the biggest stars in Hip Hop, and really music in general. Although Drake was fully aligned with Lil Wayne and even on tour with him as part of the "Americas Most Wanted" tour he was not officially signed. The bidding war that was reportedly took place around this time was also said to have been like none before. In June of 2009, proving his loyalty to the man whose co-sign was so invaluable, Drake inked a deal with Lil Wayne's Young Money/Cash Money/Universal Republic Records.

In September of 2009, Drake re-released So Far Gone as an EP, his first project for purchase; the song "Best I Ever Had" was part of the record and earned him his first Grammy Nomination in 2010 for "Best Rap Song.” Drake continued his ascent to the top in the months leading up to his debut album Thank Me Later, releasing the singles "Over" and "Find Your Love" produced by Kanye West. The album was released June 15, 2010 and sold nearly 500,000 copies in it's first week. The project which featured appearances from Alicia Keys, Jay Z, Nicki Minaj, Young Jeezy and others eventually would go on to sell over 1.5 million albums and garner four grammy nominations. He didn't win any of those 2011 Grammys; the "Best New Artist Category" category that year was especially packed including fellow Canadian Justin Bieber, Florence & The Machine, Mumford & Sons and winner Esperanza Spalding. Another group Drake missed out on (likely just due to timing) was the XXL Magazine Freshman 10 list, an almost right of passage for upcoming emcees, Drake's omission is easily the most glaring of all time. In 2010 Drake not only held the first annual OVO Fest concert in his hometown of Toronto (an event that has grown every year), but also embarked on his first headlining "The Away From Home" tour which featured opening acts like Tyga, K-os, the Clipse and Francis & The Lights.

While continuing a steady stream of collaborations Drake also continued to establish his Octobers Very Own (OVO) brand which includes his producer Noah "40" Shebib, thought of as the Quincy Jones to Drake's Michael Jackson, as well as other producers Boi-1da & T-Minus. In early 2011 fellow Toronto native The Weeknd released his first project House Of Balloons and although not beholding to or a full on OVO member, he was directly associated with Drake, and definitely owes much of his success to their mutually beneficial association. In addition to Drake appearing on the song "The Zone," The Weeknd also played a major part in the writing and shaping of Drake's second major label album Take Care, appearing on "The Ride" and the hugely successful single "Crew Love." The album, which debuted at #1 and eventually earned Drake his first Grammy Award for "Best Rap Album" featured incredible guest appearances from Andre 3000, Stevie Wonder, constantly rumored love interest Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar (who had his own solo track) and others.

In support of the album, in 2012 Drake embarked on the “Club Paradise” tour with A$AP Rocky & Kendrick Lamar. Also in 2012 Drake cemented the OVO Sound label through a partnership with Warner Music. The label is now a major power player housing artists like PARTYNEXTDOOR, Majid Jordan, ILoveMakonnen as well as producers like Mike Zombie. 2013 saw the release of Drake’s third album Nothing Was The Same, helmed by singles “Started From The Bottom” and “Hold on We're Going Home.” Like Take Care, NWTS earned him a #1 debut and Grammy nominations. The album was followed by his biggest tour to date, the aptly titled “Would You Like a Tour ?”. In 2014 Drake also got to show off both his musical and acting talents by being a host and performer on Saturday Night Live. While he didn’t not release an album that year, Drake showed how to properly leverage current technology to keep his momentum rolling, releasing new song like “Days In The East” and “0-100/The Catch Up” directly to web based music players, the later peaking at #35 on BIllboard and earning him a Grammy nomination.

In 2015 Drake is at a stage in his career that not many artists every truly reach. He is not just “The hottest rapper alive” as Kanye West dubbed him in February but undoubtedly one of the biggest artist in the world. He was able to release If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, an “album” with absolutely no promotion, yet it is so far the years best selling project, breaking all time streaming records along the way. In April he closed out two separate weekends of the annual Coachella music festival in California as well and then annoucned his upcoming “Jungle” tour, named for a track from IYRTITL, along with Atlanta rapper/singer Future. Announced back in 2014, Drake’s next album Views From The 6 also looms heavily.
